The Final Approaches!

Sorry about not posting last week. As I was telling Ryan Good, occasionally fantasy football sends me spiraling into depression. Playoff Rounds 1: The Rob Sucks Edition did me in pretty good. But I will not dwell on the past...as I mostly refuse to talk about it. Instead, I'll talk about this week!

So, Kyle, our league-long #1 seed, folded like a house of paper-mache...as is expected of our number 1 seeds! Kyle continues a long-standing tradition of #1s totally imploding upon arrival to the playoffs. To be fair, this is only part true. In reality, Kyle's team has been pretty awful for weeks now. Is anyone surprised by this turn of events?

Now, Drew and Travis' game was much, much better. I love close games...and tearing teams apart when they lose by 4 and made some crucial judgment error. Unfortunately, I can't do that here, because I can't really fault Travis for not starting freackin' Ryan Torain. Oh well. Better luck next year, Travis!

I'm saying it here: the championship is Donel's to lose. I know his team is spotty...but so is Drew's. Drew and Donel are pretty typical of the teams that win our league year in and year out: a little above average, with intermittent bouts of greatness. Donel's team is either sub 70 or over 120. There is just no in between. Drew's team is a little less prone to meltdowns but, at the same time, is less inclined to score 30 points. In all, I think Donel's got the edge...but I'm not going to spend a lot of time trying to figure out stats, since nobody knows anything.

Also: anyone confused by the "consolation ladder?" I'm pretty sure Travis and Kyle are in the 3rd place game...even though it isn't labeled as such. Plus, I get to play Scott again, since one total beatdown wasn't enough. At least the losers' bracket had the decency to let the winners play winners. Though the bigger question in that ladder may be, "can Kim lose it all?"

This post is destined to be short and sucky, but for good reason: I'm trying to go all out for next(ish) week. Also, multiple people have told me about "The League," TV show, which I feel like I might need to watch in its entirety for some good ideas. Regardless, expect the next post to be epic. EPIC.
